Expect a formal announcement at WWDC 2020 in June, along with the first developer beta. Apple typically releases the first public beta in late June or July. iOS 14 will likely be released in September 2020.
iOS 14 will most likely be compatible with all devices with an A10 processor. Devices with an A9 processor will also likely be supported, although their fate is less certain.
This update is rumored to bring a new home screen list view option, possible widgets on the home screen, a new Fitness app, usernames in iMessage, new group messaging features in iMessage, retract iMessages, mark as unread in iMessage, a new AR app, kids mode in the Activity app, sleep tracking, ability to set third party apps as default, location notifications in Find My, wallpapers for CarPlay, CarKey in wallet app, more business info in Apple Maps, Night Shift for HomeKit lights, third party wallpapers in settings, “Clips” feature to use basic versions of not downloaded apps.
