Software Versions

iPadOS 13

The original version of iPadOS launched alongside iOS 13, and brought new features including multiple instances of the same app, redesigned home screen, new gestures, new files app, and more.

iPadOS 13 is compatible with iPad Mini 4, iPad Mini 5, iPad Air 2, iPad Air 3, iPad 5, iPad 6, and all iPad Pro models.

iOS 12

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2018 and launched in September 2018. It brought stability and performance improvements, Group FaceTime, Screen Time, Siri Shortcuts, and new apps for iPad including Voice Memos and Stocks.

iOS 11

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2017 and launched in September 2017. It brought a new multitasking UI for iPad, Files app, Redesigned Control Center, Files app, and more.

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2016 and launched in September 2016. It brought a new widgets screen, home app, and more.

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2015 and launched in September 2015. It brought new features including split screen and picture in picture for iPad, Apple News app, San Francisco font, Night Shift, and more.

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2014 and launched in September 2014. It brought new features including the new Health app, Apple Watch Support, iCloud Photo Library, and iCloud Drive.

iOS 7

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2013 and launched in September 2013. It brought new features including a new design, AirDrop, and more.

iOS 6

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2012 and launched in September 2012. It brought new features including Apple Maps, Passbook, and more. It was the final release with the realistic design.

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2011 and launched in September 2011. It brought new features including notification center, Reminders, Siri, Newsstand, and more.

This version of iOS was announced at WWDC 2010 and launched soon after. It brought new features including iBooks to iPhone, Game Center, and more.
